Tempe Undergraduate Student Government passed a resolution during its Tuesday meeting that supports the creation of a new Barrett, the Honors College course.
Senate Bill 69, introduced by Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering Senator Anthony Zlaket, allows Tempe USG to support the creation of a Human Event course specifically designed for international students through Barrett, the Honors College.
Daniel Martin, senator for Barrett, the Honors College, explained he and Zlaket were approached by Barrett Dean Mark Jacobs to call for the support of USG.
“Barrett cannot create its own class,” Martin said. “They must go through the Faculty Senate with USG support.”
Zlaket said he will email a representative for Barrett Faculty Senate, who will demonstrate the student concern to move the issue on.
