The PGA Tour’s most raucous event, the Waste Management Phoenix Open — yeah, I haven’t really gotten used to the name yet either — tees off Thursday and has a decidedly ASU feel this year.
The ASU women’s golf team didn’t take long to find its form.
ASU senior Braxton Marquez and junior Phillip Francis qualified as amateurs for the Waste Management Phoenix Open, which will be played at the TPC Scottsdale Championship Course.
That trend of facing tough competition in the Pac-10 for the No. 1 ASU women’s golf team continues Monday when it heads to Tucson to take part in the 26th Annual Wildcat Invitational.
